Synthetic Carpet
1. Use a dry cleaning solvent such as Carbona or Energine. Dry cleaning solvent should never be used on polyester.
This is a problem that primarily effects only new carpet owners who are unfamiliar with proper carpet maintenance and care. Most people never have to deal with this problem more than once. Usually after waxing their carpet for the first time, people then realize that floor wax should only be applied to "hard" flooring surfaces.
As nice as having a freshly waxed carpet may sound, don't be tempted to give it a try. Floor wax doesn't belong on carpet.
